Historique
Since the XJC disappeared in late 1977 (1978 model year), Jaguar has never again launched a coupé derivative of its XJ saloon, and that's a shame. Indeed, the idea of a large, bourgeois but sporty coupé, derived from a luxury saloon, fit perfectly with Jaguar's image. The failure of this first model probably made the English brand cautious, and since then it has preferred to offer different coupés: the Jaguar XJS, the XK or today the F-Type.
